About Kona

In 1990, while attempting to make peace in the house with her 6-month-old beagle Kona, Laura Dorfman was introduced to traditional dog training. She decided she was not going to hurt her puppy in the name of dog training. It was against everything she believed about coexisting with other sentient beings.

After using her own training — love, respect, patience and a lot of management — she was introduced to positive training. Kona was never a recipient of the official kind of positive training, but she forged the path.

The peaceful, positive commitment of kona's touch to teach dogs and their guardians how to live with respect and fun is dedicated to Kona.
